We spent the morning in Coimbra.  Visited the ‘Fado’ centre and the university which is the 3^rd oldest in Europe occupying the site of the 1^st royal palace of Portugal.  Has a very ornate library, chapel and old throne room which is now used for important academic ceremonies.  We are now in Tomar – and plan to visit historic sites in the area and the city of Fatima in the next couple of days.
